Designed for high school Freshmen and Sophomores, this program consists of six 60 minute sessions. Focused on the basics, sessions aim to build confidence and self awareness early.
We start by talking...about talking. Why is it important? Do you like it? Do you not? Why? I use a method called 'brain dumping' to get all your thoughts and information out, so we can use it later.
We use the content you generated in our 'brain dumping' exercise to dig into your communication style. I give you some real-time feedback to take away and work on.
We cover all the things you're good at, and perhaps uncover some things that might surprise you. You walk away with a synthesized list of your strengths and best qualities.
We take what we developed in Session 3 and turn it into a 2-3 minute speech. The goal is to get familiar with synthesizing information and putting it into a narrative.
We meet, review, and rehearse your speech together. I give feedback for you to incorporate before the final session.
A final presentation of your speech to an audience of your choosing: me, family, your pet. Whoever you would like. the important thing is that you get up and present it. We debrief afterwards and I give you a feedback sheet you can keep and apply moving forward.
Designed for high school Juniors and Seniors, this program consists of four 60 minute sessions. The aim is to help students get a sense of their personal brand, build self awareness, and develop their confidence as they begin their college entry journey.
Cultivating a personal brand is about generating a clear idea of who you are and what you can bring to the table. It isn't necessarily just colors and design; it can be a simple statement or list of characteristics that inform how you present yourself. We'll work together to come up with yours.
In the college admissions process, a good application essay can make all the difference. I can help with topic ideation and content review. If you have not started a college application essay, I can help you start one by creating an outline.
Many schools require an interview with an alumni; I'll help you prepare for yours. We'll talk about what they expect, some best practices to apply while interviewing, and I'll help you prepare some boilerplate responses to questions they usually ask.
Everyone needs a risk-free practice run. I will stage a mock interview, role playing as a representative/alumni from your top school so you can practice in an interview environment. Interview: first 45mins, feedback: second 45mins.
Designed for college Juniors and Seniors, this program consists of six 60 minute sessions. The focus is on developing and applying all four foundational tenets: self awareness, personal brand, executive presence, and confidence. The end goal is to help students step out into the working world.
If you have one, we'll review and edit it. If you don't have one, I'll help you build it while applying the best practices I look for when reviewing prospective job applicants.
It's never a bad idea to put together a web-based portfolio that showcases your resume, personal achievements, and work. Even if it's a small personal website that presents you in a unique or interesting way. We will work on starting yours.
We'll go over the basics of working your network: If you don't already have one, we'll create a LinkedIn page together, and start reaching out to relevant people in your desired field. If I have any connections in the space, I will make an introduction.
We'll use this session to talk about the job application process. I can show you where to look, how to look, and what's expected when you apply. This session includes a final edit of your resume, a revisit to your portfolio, and tips on cover letter creation. We'll make sure your personal brand is shining strong as you start presenting yourself to potential employers.
As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of the risk-free practice run. I will stage a mock interview, role-playing as a prospective employer so you can practice in an interview environment. Interview: first 45mins, feedback: second 45mins.
